It's really nice to see photos of your friends/fellow students and school. Everything seems so much more genuine and accessible now.
I stayed at a hotel in Aguas Calientes in Peru that was very similar to the open-air portion of your school. I can testify that that is really nice. Also, it must be common to have tile covered kitchen counter structures in Latin America, as I saw quite a number of them in Peru. Maybe it's just tiled things in general...
Do you find it extremely comforting to know that there are people similar to you out in the world, and that you know some of those people? Though it's obvious, knowing first-hand that there are indeed people in other parts of the world who you can relate to is very reassuring, and it makes life seem so much better, I find.
P.S. With your different hair, you look extremely similar to someone else that I'm having trouble putting my finger on (possibly from a movie? Michael Bolton in Office Space?).
